Artist's Description

In the spirit of Halloween (with no pun intended) I sketched the mummy rising from the grave. The working title I gave him is "Uncle Ned".

I drew Uncle Ned in charcoal on Strathmore gray toned paper 9x12 pad. Primarily using General's HB and 2B for the darker tones. For the main shading I used a Webril pad to rub in Willow charcoal and followed up with a stump for detailed work. It is nice to work on the toned paper since the base tone is already there allowing one to use white charcoal for the lighter tones.
