Alien Buggy was started as a design sketch, then later I added an Alien Buggy was started as a design sketch, then later I added an environment. I used mostly graphite pencils, sticks with blenders, Verithin for sharp edges. Then I cropped and added the border in Photoshop. This is the second design from the Alien Series.

I find working out design in pencil works for me because I can do them anywhere. In a twist, I turn to Photoshop and Painter to actually not continue the sketch into a digital painting, but also to use them to work out composition, color and values quickly then apply those ideas to traditional media.
